- ➤ The Bethlehem Area Public Library will host its first New Year book sale on Jan. 28 & 31, offering adult hardcover books for $2. The December sale raised $10,183 and finished the year strong. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ Members of Gray Ribbon Riders and Simplicity Hair Salon delivered donations to support the Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Allentown, and the church celebrated new priest-in-charge Rev. - ➤ Tuesday marked the 30th anniversary of the 1996 blizzard that dumped up to 2 feet of snow across parts of the region. The storm began on Jan. 6 and brought record snowfall (31 inches in Philadelphia and 34 inches in Reading), leading to a state-of-emergency declaration and travel bans. WFMZ

- ➤ Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites honored Historic Hotel Bethlehem as its 2025 Business Honoree at the Dec. 6 Benefactor’s Reception at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks; managing partner Bruce Haines accepted the award in recognition of the hotel's role in downtown preservation & tourism. - ➤ The Bethlehem Area Public Library hosted a free screening of 'Rooted: A Story of Artists Embracing Place' on Dec. 13, with a panel discussion including producers Dave Fry, Bridget George & Doug Roysdon and singer John Gorka, highlighting local artists; the film team is accepting donations for the final $5000 needed. - ➤ On New Year’s Eve, 1,000+ revelers danced into 2026 at The Club at Wind Creek Event Center with live music, laser shows, and deluxe bottle service. The festive celebration marked a vibrant start to the new year for local partygoers. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ The Bethlehem Area School Board appointed Daniel Terry as Hanover ES principal on Jan. 5; he has worked with BASD for 20 years. He previously served as assistant principal at Northeast MS (and taught social studies at Liberty HS). Bethlehem Press

- ➤ Emmaus grad Mario Landino, a defensive lineman for Indiana, celebrated a Rose Bowl win and now readies for the Peach Bowl with a birthday game this Friday plus a chance to advance to the national championship. His success draws pride from local coach Harold Fairclough and his family. WFMZ
