- ➤ Bethlehem’s BASD transportation department held the fifth annual Stuff the Bus event in 2025, filling a bus with donations for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program and New Bethany at SteelStacks (Christkindlmarkt) and Bethlehem Square on Linden Street despite earlier weather cancellations. - ➤ Volunteers at Northern EMS, NOVA are hosting community events: a soup fundraiser available for pickup on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a breakfast at Schnecksville Fire Company on Jan. 25, and a potluck with a movie screening at Union United Church (Neffs) on Jan. 24. - ➤ Bethlehem brewery Fegley’s Brew Works earned two first-place and two second-place medals at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Beer Competition, with three award-winning beers on draft and one returning soon. The brewery will host its Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Allentown Brew Works, offering samples and guest breweries. WFMZ
- ➤ Bethlehem candy maker PEEPS unveiled a new lineup of marshmallow chicks for Easter, featuring Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts, Chili Lime Mango, and SUNNYD flavors — these treats will hit store shelves in time for the holiday. WFMZ

- ➤ Train fans can view two floors of model railroads at the Black Diamond Society headquarters at 900 E. Macada Road during open houses on Feb. 21, 22, 28 and Mar. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. Founded 60 years ago, the society welcomes new members. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ LVEDC released its new Hot Careers Dashboard & Guide to help residents and students explore in-demand jobs and training paths in the region. The free tools, used by school counselors, provide updated salary data and training requirements for local career planning. Lehigh Valley Economic Development
- ➤ LVEDC VP Kristin Cahayla-Hoffman said the Lehigh Valley is attracting global food and beverage manufacturers thanks to its location, skilled workforce, and heritage. Several companies, including Kerry Group and Ecopax, are expanding operations by adding production facilities (such as a 104,238 sqft plant in Bethlehem) to boost employment and growth. - ➤ Two Liberty HS alumni, Sid Tekumalla and Joseph Barlow, have secured a U.S. patent for a helmet safety innovation developed from a capstone course. They plan to license their unique honeycomb design (using Nylon 6 and 12) to improve helmet reusability in baseball. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ At a Bethlehem Area School District meeting Monday night, board members reviewed plans to check settlement cracks at Nitschmann Middle School on West Union Boulevard, built in 2017. The board will vote on a laser survey with a $37,500 cost split among Breslin Architects & D’Huy Engineering, Penn Builders. WFMZ

- ➤ LANTA plans to raise bus fares from $2 to $2.50 for its 36 routes after a public hearing held today at 6 p.m. at 60 West Broad Street. Day-passes and monthly passes will increase if the board approves the changes next month. WFMZ
