  • Tuesday night in Northampton County, school leaders, law enforcement and resource groups gathered to raise awareness of teen dating violence; Terry Glass (founder of Rianna's Voice) urged parents to talk with teens about warning signs.  WFMZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Mustard and Cheese Drama Society's production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' opened Friday night at Zoellner Arts Center and runs through Feb. 28. Student actors from various colleges perform a satirical play with a set inspired by Andy Warhol (featuring metallic tones and pop art).  The Brown and White
  • Martin Guitar announced its Artist Showcase Class of 2026 yesterday, featuring ten up-and-coming musicians from genres including country, folk, Americana and rock + more, with each artist set to receive support and a platform to share their music.  WFMZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • New federal data shows the Lehigh Valley achieved a record $57.3 billion in GDP with 343,975 jobs and a median household income of $84,260; manufacturing output grew to $8.9 billion, reflecting robust growth in regional industry.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development
  • Dan VonDielingen, senior VP of Lilly, will speak at the LVEDC Annual Meeting on March 17 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, where he will share insights on Lilly's $3.5 billion investment and its new pharmaceutical campus.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development

EDUCATION NEWS

  • KidsPeace and LCCC launched a Mental Health Technician Training Academy to help students learn skills in children’s mental health care at KidsPeace’s Orchard Hills Campus in Orefield. The program includes classroom instruction, simulation labs, and job-shadowing (offering direct career paths) and will give graduates preferred candidacy for MHT roles.  WFMZ
  • Bethlehem Area School District announced Superintendent Jack Silva will retire at the end of the school year, effective July 1. Silva, who devoted 40 years to public education + 3 years as superintendent, will lead the district until June 30 as the board begins its search for a successor.  WFMZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania Game Commission warns that avian flu continues in wild birds as warmer weather brings more migrating waterfowl to the area. Residents are urged to report sick or dead birds (833-PGC-WILD) and follow biosecurity measures to help limit the virus.  Lehigh Valley Live

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lehigh wrestling coach Pat Santoro earned his 200th dual-meet win on Feb. 6 when the Mountain Hawks beat Morgan State University in Baltimore.
