CULTURE NEWS

  • ArtsQuest announced that Sangriafest will return to SteelStacks campus on June 21—from 2 to 5 p.m.—with VIP access from 1 to 2 p.m. and will feature live music, food trucks and many samples of sangria for a festive gathering in Bethlehem.  WFMZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • LVEDC released its 2024 Annual Report for its 30th anniversary — the 44-page report and timeline were distributed at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday and detailed key economic wins in the Lehigh Valley, such as a nearly $56 billion GDP and a record median household income of $81,709.   • On March 11th, more than 50 state officials, business leaders and outdoor operators met at ArtsQuest at SteelStacks in Bethlehem to plan ways to boost Pennsylvania’s outdoor recreation economy through the Elevate program. State Director Nathan Reigner led discussions on workforce development, access to capital and legislation while building on last fall’s launch at Easton Outdoor Co.—the outdoor industry generated about $19 billion last year with a 10% increase.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development

  • Bethlehem’s Historic Conservation Commission advanced the Tempo By Hilton hotel project on the Southside with 114 guest rooms and amenities including restaurants, bars, and meeting spaces at 14-36 W. Third St.—The commission set a 94-foot limit for the stair tower and allowed the use of EIFS cladding following discussions on design and building height.  WFMZ
