  • On Wednesday, over 200 Lehigh University students took part in a DEI solidarity walk on campus, marching from the UC flagpole to the Zoellner Arts Center as speakers explained the need for equity initiatives—organizers said the event was planned to promote inclusivity.  The Brown and White
  • Today, the Lehigh Valley Auto Show in Bethlehem is nearing a record with over 65,000 expected visitors, with Saturday drawing 30,000. Executive director Dan Moyer said new features like the Pit Crew Challenge and meet and greets with Super Bowl champion Brandon Graham are drawing guests—adding excitement with displays of classic Mustangs.  WFMZ

  • Eli-Mac, a Top 10 American Idol contestant formerly known as Camile Velasco, will perform at ArtsQuest’s free One Earth ReggaeFest at SteelStacks on July 5—scheduled from noon to 2 a.m. as the festival returns for its fourth year following last year’s lineup of over a dozen musical acts.  Lehigh Valley News

  • A job fair with about 35 employers will be held at Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township on Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m. Cumulus radio stations including 100.7 WLEV, 99.9 The Hawk, CAT Country 96 and 107.1 and Lehigh Valley FOX Sports are presenting the event—job seekers in the Lehigh Valley will be able to explore full-time, part-time and seasonal opportunities.  Lehigh Valley Live

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bethlehem native Devon Koch, a Kutztown University junior and station treasurer at KUR-AM 1670, won Best Business Director at the 86th Annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System Awards on March 23—she manages station budgets and merchandise projects while training new club members.  WLVR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At its annual meeting in Bethlehem, LANTA proposed bus service changes for June that will include a 4% reduction and a reorganization of routes—changes designed to ease the impact on riders. The agency will accept emailed comments until April 14 and announce the final plan by the end of the month.  WLVR
  • A four-part series called The Road Ahead examines rising traffic volume, dangerous driving and insufficient infrastructure in the Lehigh Valley—findings show trends like more DUIs and distracted driving. The series will wrap up with a community conversation at the Univest Public Media Center on Thursday, April 3 where reporter Tom Shortell will answer reader questions.  WLVR
