  • Ramapo College students identified remains found near the Delaware River on the 300 block of River Road as those of Maria Quinones Garcia—an Allentown woman missing since 2014—solving a decades-old cold case with DNA testing and samples from her children.  WFMZ

  • Thirty-five employers attended a job fair at Lehigh Valley Mall on Tuesday, March 25th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Local job seekers had the opportunity to connect with potential employers.  WFMZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bethlehem Area School District faces a nearly $10 million deficit for 2025-26 and is planning a 4% tax increase + spending cuts to support classroom programs while the board prepares to vote by May 12.  Lehigh Valley News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission’s Environment Committee reviewed plans to update sewage systems in Upper Saucon and Palmer townships by extending the North Branch Interceptor to serve several developments and replacing the outdated Sheridan Drive Pump Station with a sewer extension to Bethlehem Township's system. The committee also advanced a hazardous waste permit renewal for Bethlehem Apparatus Company’s facility near Interstate 78—officials said no adverse environmental impacts have been recorded.  WLVR
  • A charter school in Allentown has paused its stadium project after the Lehigh Valley IronPigs raised parking concerns near Coca-Cola Park—officials will review the plan on April 8 in city council chambers. Separately, the LVPC approved a review of a Bethlehem rezoning application to change a four acre parcel at 8th Avenue and Martin Court to a shopping center district, with further discussion planned for Thursday at 7 p.m.  Lehigh Valley News
  • At its 30th Anniversary Meeting on March 18, LVEDC chose Stephen Hoff of Crayola as Board Chair and six new board members from major local companies and groups. Hoff said the board will guide new economic projects + the meeting also re-elected three members and honored five outgoing ones + this new board shows stronger local leadership.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development
