  • Lehigh’s Colleges Against Cancer held its 20th annual Relay for Life at Grace Hall on March 21 with a baseball theme that attracted students, faculty and campus groups—raising over $31,560 for cancer research through the American Cancer Society. Emma Moriarty said the fundraiser was the result of an all-year effort and the club will continue to boost support with future events.  The Brown and White

CULTURE NEWS

  • ArtsQuest Creative Factory will replace the Banana Factory on West Third Street and is expected to open in late 2026 after ArtsQuest found the old facility underutilized. The $32 million project—funded by the PPL Foundation and other donors—will create nearly 500 construction jobs and offer modern spaces with 36 art studios and a large glass studio to support local art programs.  The Brown and White

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Lehigh Valley International Airport saw a 7% rise in passenger traffic in February with nearly 75,000 passengers compared to just under 70,000 last February—helping it earn a nomination for best small airport. Local voters can cast one vote per day until noon April 10, and winners will be announced on April 17.  WFMZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bethlehem Area Schools seniors Dunya Atra and Shanice Painton were named on Thursday as winners of the BASD Superintendent’s Scholarship, and they will each receive a four-year, full-tuition award to study biology at Moravian University in the fall. The award is in its 10th year — it honors their academic success and supports their plans to pursue careers in science.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Bethlehem Christian School had its special exception approved to use a residential property at 5575 Green Pond Road as an office while planning a new school on an 8-acre site. The ruling is valid until April 1, 2028—giving the school three years to secure development approval amid growing enrollment.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Lehigh men’s wrestling placed 15th overall among 60 schools at the NCAA Championships at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia—graduate student Owen Trephan finished fifth while fifth-year Sheldon Seymour finished sixth.
