CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Palmer Township police executed a search warrant at 6 a.m. Thursday at an apartment on S. 25th Street in Wilson and arrested Eric Edwards after finding crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and cash — he faces charges of cocaine possession with intent to deliver, controlled substance possession, and drug paraphernalia possession — and he remains in Northampton County Prison unable to post bail. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission said trout season opens tomorrow at 8 a.m. and will stock 3.2 million adult trout in 691 streams and 130 lakes across the state — anglers may keep up to five trout per day and must have proper licenses to fish. This plan includes Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout with specified sizes for each fish type. WFMZ

- ➤ Today at 7:30 a.m., the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce holds the State of the City Address with Mayor J. William Reynolds—this live broadcast will share updates on city plans. WFMZ
- ➤ Bethlehem Mayor J. William Reynolds delivered his State of the City address last Thursday at Musikfest Cafe in front of nearly 400 people—his largest crowd ever—as he detailed over $1 billion in private-sector investment, improvements in public safety, housing and transportation, and plans to cut the city’s debt by 2028. He said that these combined efforts by past and current administrations are building a stronger Bethlehem. Lehigh Valley News
- ➤ South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners approved advertising a revised pollutant reduction plan — addressing flooding at the Davis Smith property intersection on Springhouse Road and Trexler Boulevard — with a 30-day public comment period beginning April 11 and a vote scheduled for May 21 after the plan is advertised on April 9. The board also chose not to renew its IT vendor contract and awarded a roadway asphalt milling contract to Giuliani Equipment for late July work on Harold Avenue after two other bidders did not meet requirements. - ➤ Gov. Josh Shapiro visited Fegley's Brew Works in Bethlehem on Wednesday April 2 to warn that upcoming tariffs could force local craft breweries and other small businesses to pay higher costs. He said tariffs on aluminum and steel — key materials for the industry — may lead to increased prices for consumers while lawmakers work to support local main streets. WLVR
