COMMUNITY NEWS

  • United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley announced Friday that supporters raised over $26 million to help people in the region — the campaign ran from April 2024 to March 2025 and provided key services to over 200,000 residents.  WFMZ
  • On April 10, 2025, city officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony at Saucon Park on William Street in South Bethlehem as the park reopened with restored pavilions, swing sets, and playground equipment after Hurricane Ida damage. The $200,000 project, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, spurred repairs on the creek bridge and plans to plant new trees later this spring—reviving a long-damaged local space.  Lehigh Valley Live

CRIME NEWS

  • Erin Hines, principal of Hanover Elementary, was charged Friday morning with two DUI counts—one for the highest rate of alcohol and one for general impairment—and had been placed on leave with Eric Fontanez serving in her role.  WFMZ
  • Bethlehem Area School District principal Erin Hines was charged with misdemeanor DUI after she allegedly hit three parked vehicles at Stefko Shopping Center on March 29 and was placed on administrative leave.  Lehigh Valley Live
