ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A tree hit a moving Kia along Route 22 in Bethlehem Township Sunday afternoon near 3 p.m. — both the driver and passenger were buckled up and escaped serious injury — state police said.  Lehigh Valley Live

CULTURE NEWS

  • ArtsQuest’s annual Blast Furnace Blues Festival will return for its 14th year on July 18 and 19 on the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem—this free, outdoor event features performances at both Levitt Pavilion and Town Square Community Stage. Grammy-nominated blues singer Shemekia Copeland will headline on the second day at 7:30 p.m. while blues rock band Indigenous will lead the first night.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Today is Tax Day in Bethlehem so anyone who owes the IRS must make a payment by 8 p.m. or set up a payment plan. Local CPA Rachel Wehr advises using the IRS direct pay program to avoid fees or filing for an extension online for extra time until Oct. 15 — a choice that gives taxpayers more time to complete their returns.  WFMZ

  • Developer Dennis Benner has requested a zoning change for a 4-acre portion of an 11-acre property at 1401 Eighth Ave to allow an upscale car wash and/or drive-thru restaurant near the former Martin Tower site—local planning commissions and city officials plan a first City Council reading today.  Lehigh Valley News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, Cardiovascular Logistics and Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia announced a partnership that will merge over 90 cardiologists, 50 advanced practice providers and 30 locations to expand heart care in Southeastern Pennsylvania—this deal will grow the platform from 300 to 440 providers to meet rising cardiovascular needs.  WFMZ
