BUSINESS NEWS

  • Paris Baguette will open its first Lehigh Valley location on April 28 at 30 W. Broad St. in downtown Bethlehem, operating in a nearly 4,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of the new Dream Boyd Theatre complex—offering French-inspired treats and a full bakery cafe with indoor and outdoor seating for around 80 guests. A grand opening celebration is planned for May 9.  WFMZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Workforce Board Lehigh Valley will host the second High School Seniors Only Job Fair on April 29 at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. — more than 50 local businesses and 16 schools will offer full-time, part-time, summer, and training opportunities for graduating seniors from Lehigh and Northampton school districts.  WFMZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania now charges electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners a road-user fee with registration renewals; EV owners pay $200 in 2025 and $250 in 2026 while plug-in hybrids pay $50 in 2025 and $63 in 2026. The fee, available in monthly installments starting July 2026 — it will add $16 million in 2025 to the highway fund — must be paid for valid registration.  Lehigh Valley Live

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority received an $800,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency to remediate the Fourth Street Building at 401-403 and 405 E. 4th St. and will turn it into four apartments and a commercial space; the project, which will cost $2.4 million, is expected to expand affordable housing in South Side Bethlehem.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Brian Bozilesky, a Palmer Township resident, scored his first 300 game in his league at a local bowling center and raised his season average near 192. Other local bowlers, including Nicole Walker and pro Karsyn Lukosius—who won the PWBA Eastern Pennsylvania Regional title by defeating Mallory Clark 225 to 182—also achieved high marks during a busy week of competition.  Lehigh Valley Live
