  • Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites said the Grist Miller’s House, closed for decades, will open for a free community event from 1 to 4 on Saturday, April 26 in the Colonial Industrial Quarter; parking is available at Luckenbach Mill and visitors can explore live demonstrations, guided tours, and two exhibitions — Reviving the Past and Timeless Trades — that highlight our local heritage.  Lehigh Valley News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 63rd Annual AAUW Used Book Fair is open today at Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and features nearly 100,000 donated items such as books, vinyl, and DVDs. Proceeds will fund scholarships for Bethlehem and Allentown high school graduates and support local community groups—clubs, churches, and visiting nurses.  WFMZ
  • The AAUW Bethlehem Branch's 63rd Annual Used Book Fair is running today at the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink and offers thousands of books and unique finds for book lovers. The event continues with sessions on Saturday, April 26, Sunday, April 27, and Monday, April 28.  WFMZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Abraham Atiyeh filed a lawsuit against Bethlehem Township on Wednesday and claimed that dangerous, unkempt trees have led to problems after a tree hit a car on Rt—22 and a fatal accident occurred in Lower Saucon Township. The suit asks the Northampton County Court to order the township to inspect roads, trim or remove hazardous trees, and hold public meetings to update residents on a safety plan.  WFMZ

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • LVIP finalized its purchase of a four-acre site near LVIP VII almost one year after announcing plans for Gateway on 4th—a mixed-income housing project with 120 units and 15 townhomes—and removed old fuel oil tanks from the former Szilagyi Fuel property. Developer Pennrose will begin construction once financing and low-income housing tax credits are secured.  WFMZ

  • Officials from Jefferson Health, PGA TOUR Champions and Lehigh Country Club announced a new five-year partnership to launch the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic next year at Lehigh Country Club, with the tournament scheduled for the week of September 28 and featuring 78 professional players. The event is expected to boost the local economy by $50 million and benefit charities such as Valley Youth House and the Eagles Autism Foundation—supporting critical community programs.  WFMZ
