ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A wind-driven fire on Colony Lane in Plainfield Township destroyed a single-story home on Sunday evening and displaced three adults who escaped without injuries—Monday morning's rekindle worsened the damage, leaving the home uninhabitable while the Red Cross provided emergency shelter.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • Sugar Bear Candy Store opened its first Pennsylvania location on April 12 at Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township, filling a space once held by Lolli and Pops as part of a new wave of tenants including Waikiki, Address For Him, Carter’s and OshKosh, and Miniso. CRIME NEWS

  • A Florida man, Alberto Jose Rios-Santiago, 26, from Deltona faces charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of crime in Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas for a March 7th shooting at an after-hours club in Allentown that killed Blessing Taveras and wounded two others — he remains in jail without bail pending a formal arraignment on June 3rd.  WFMZ

  • SteelStacks has announced its 15th season of free concerts at Levitt Pavillion and the shows will begin on May 16 and run through September 13 + nearly 50 performances are scheduled on Thursday through Saturday and select Sunday nights at 7:30 p.m.  WFMZ

  • At a sold-out event on April 24 at Wind Creek Bethlehem, leaders shared market data showing a record $55.7 billion GDP, 340,087 jobs, and a 28% population growth since 1995. They said more than 54,000 new homes will be needed by 2050 to help close a 9,000-unit shortage—sparking plans to boost construction and promote the region’s new image.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development
