ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 17, an SUV driven in reverse crashed through Boscov’s entrance at Palmer Park Mall at 4 p.m. and struck a 64-year-old (pedestrian) while the vehicle was driven by an 88-year-old (driver).  Lehigh Valley Live
  • An 88-year-old woman was injured when her car crashed into a store at Palmer Park Mall and authorities are investigating the accident.  WFMZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lehigh seniors in the College and Arts and Sciences are preparing to graduate and choosing different paths amid a tough job market. About half plan to enter the workforce directly while others are taking a gap year or moving on to further studies — professors say their broad skills will help them succeed.  The Brown and White
  • Lehigh University changed its admissions rules after a forged application in spring led to four Ghanaian students being arrested on Sept. 9; two remain in jail pending trial on June 3 while many on campus demand clearer review practices for international applications. The school said it is boosting document checks to stop fraud, and some worry that canceling visas before criminal cases end—raising questions about fairness.  The Brown and White

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On May 13th, a bill from the House Game & Fisheries Committee passed unanimously that would allow active-duty military and disabled veterans from other states to use their own hunting and fishing licenses in Pennsylvania. The measure now goes to the full House for consideration & may lead the Attorney General's Office to negotiate reciprocal agreements with states that have similar laws.  Lehigh Valley Live
