- ➤ On April 24, the Bethlehem Garden Club planted an 8’ Eastern Red Bud tree along East Church Street at City Hall to mark Arbor Day and the nation’s 250th anniversary. - ➤ Baking enthusiasts are invited to the Baked into Bethlehem Baking Challenge finals on Saturday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Luckenbach Mill—tickets are $5 for ages 13 and up and include access to an exhibition at local museums. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ At a state competition held on May 13 in Harrisburg, Nazareth Area Middle School students won first place for their video on B. Braun Medical, Inc.— marking their fifth consecutive win in a contest that promotes manufacturing careers. Lehigh Valley Economic Development
- ➤ St. Luke’s University Health Network welcomed 73 students on May 18 to its new College of Health Sciences at the hospital in Bethlehem, building a pipeline to ease local health care staffing needs (77 more will join in the fall and the college plans to expand its course offerings). - ➤ A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM today in Lehigh County as high humidity and temperatures near 97 degrees may raise heat illness risks; residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids (and stay indoors to avoid direct sun exposure). WFMZ
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ High Hotels Ltd. broke ground on a Tempo by Hilton hotel in SouthSide Bethlehem on May 5 with local officials present, and the 140-room property is set to open in October with over 50 new jobs. - ➤ Two new tenants—ShipBob and a global e-commerce accelerator—signed leases this month covering 590,402 sqft at Lehigh Valley Trade Center III in Upper Nazareth Township, bringing the site to full occupancy with access to I-78 and Route 22. Lehigh Valley Live
