EDUCATION NEWS

  • School board primary results across the Lehigh Valley showed that former board members Edward Keegan and Patrick Foose won ballot spots while an incumbent in Catasauqua lost, setting up repeat contests in November. Candidates in all regions of Lehigh and Northampton counties secured positions for the upcoming election—voters will soon choose among them.  Lehigh Valley Live

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At the Bethlehem City Council meeting Wednesday evening, residents urged officials to paint a white line on Pennsylvania Avenue to keep parked cars safe—Mayor J. William Reynolds said long-term traffic upgrades were planned while some city officials favored extra speed enforcement to curb driver behavior.  WFMZ
  • Bethlehem City Council approved a resolution on Wednesday night that directs city employees to apply for more than $9 million in state grants to support LVHN's redevelopment projects at the former Martin Tower site along Eighth Avenue. The Council also gave final approval to a zoning amendment for parcels at Eighth Avenue and Martin Court requested by DB6 Inc. and DB3 LLC, paving the way for a proposed upscale car wash or restaurant.  WFMZ
