- ➤ A Memorial Day ceremony in Community Park in Upper Saucon Township honored fallen soldiers and the Gold Star family of Army Corporal Joshua Harton from Bethlehem — children read his biography aloud while his mother Ruth shared her memories of his sacrifice. WFMZ
- ➤ On Memorial Day, a nonprofit honored local 1st Infantry Division soldiers Pfc. Leonard C. Groeger, Pvt. Franklin G. Sullivan and Pvt. John C. Svetecz—three Northampton County men who died during the June 6th, 1944 landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy. Their service is remembered as a vital part of Bethlehem’s World War II legacy.
