  • On Tuesday, the Bethlehem Chamber held its 2025 awards ceremony and honored community leaders, including retired planning director Darlene Heller, who won the new Bethlehem Legacy Award—recognizing her 25 years in planning and zoning in a post-Bethlehem Steel era—with local restaurant Twisted Olive winning the Golden Plate culinary contest. The event also awarded volunteer leader Anne Evans the Star of Bethlehem award, recognized Community Action Development for its work amid federal funding cuts, and celebrated milestone anniversaries for several local businesses.  Lehigh Valley News

CRIME NEWS

  • Xiaomin Fei, 34, of Nazareth was arrested Tuesday night in Palmer Township after allegedly killing his in-laws at their community for people over 55—authorities said he bought the revolver less than 24 hours before the shooting while his wife and two sons remained unharmed.  WLVR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bethlehem City Council approved a half-million-dollar state grant for the century-old Goodman Building at 30 E. Third St. to help finish its renovation into a restaurant, commercial space and apartments. Developers expect the $9 million project to be completed by the end of June & bring new energy to the SouthSide Arts District.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Drivers in Pennsylvania must put down hand-held cell phones today as Paul Miller's Law takes effect (the law was named after an East Stroudsburg University senior killed in 2010 by a distracted driver) and will issue only warnings until citations begin next year.  WFMZ
