- ➤ A team of experienced food entrepreneurs purchased the former Buca di Beppo at 714 Grape St. in Whitehall for $1.15 million. The group will fully renovate the 1.7-acre property and add 3,000 square feet to open an international market and kitchen by Thanksgiving — an initiative expected to create 20 to 25 new jobs. - ➤ A 30-year-old man was charged with felony strangulation after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, threatened her with a rifle and barricaded himself in a home on North New Street on June 5th, leading to a three-hour police standoff that ended with his surrender at 4 p.m.—he was then held at Northampton County Prison with bail set at $25,000.
