  • The Twilight Wish Foundation will open a new chapter on Tuesday, June 17 at The Birches of Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem Township. CULTURE NEWS

  • Local singer Shye Roberts, runner-up on 'The Voice,' performed as grand marshal at the Pride Festival on June 8 and reunited with former contestants during her summer shows in New York. She will headline the Morgan Park Summer Music Festival on July 6 and plans to release her first single in the fall while recording in her Bethlehem studio — highlighting her strong ties to both New York and Bethlehem.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Antone 'Tony' Pierucci was named executive director of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor on June 2 — he brings over a decade of leadership in public history and preservation. He will appear at a members-only meet-and-greet on June 18 at the Iron Mule in Williams Township and the corridor will host Carbon County D&L TrailFest on June 29 at Lehighton Outdoor Center.  Lehigh Valley Live

HEALTH NEWS

  • Gov. Shapiro’s administration will change Medicaid guidelines so that weight-loss drugs like Ozempic are covered only for patients meeting new health criteria—this change will go into effect after finalized plans allow at least a month’s notice. Lawmakers remain divided—with some supporting cost-cutting measures and others urging negotiations with manufacturers to keep access for low-income patients.  WFMZ
