- ➤ A Monroe County woman aged 40 is accused of faking terminal cancer to obtain thousands of oxycodone pills from 19 providers between 2021 and 2024 by forging documents and stealing doctors' identities—she was arrested Wednesday with bail set at $25,000 and is scheduled for a court hearing on Aug. 14. - ➤ Musikfest 2025 is happening in Bethlehem from Aug. 1 to Aug. 10 with a preview on July 31 that offers 15 free stages and one ticketed venue at PNC Plaza—Wind Creek Steel Stage. - ➤ Officials from Vistas at South Mountain presented a new traffic and pedestrian control plan at Salisbury Township’s meeting on July 24 that calls for installing a concrete median and removing an overhead gate, crosswalk, and sidewalks near the development. Township commissioners will vote on the plan at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14 + PennDOT is reviewing the proposal. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ The Pennsylvania State Police held an awards ceremony on Thursday that honored several troopers for courage and service, including Trooper Philip Buccigrossi and Trooper Justin Yozsa from Troop M in Bethlehem who helped safely evacuate over 50 people from a Whitehall Township apartment fire in October 2024. Other awards recognized SERT members and civilian staff for their actions in Lancaster and elsewhere + the ceremony highlighted the department’s commitment to public service. WFMZ
