HEALTH NEWS

  • A recent report highlights five dangers that could disrupt outdoor fun this summer—threats include lightning, mosquitoes, ticks, poison ivy, and harmful algal blooms. Local officials advise residents to follow safety tips like seeking shelter during storms, using approved repellents, and avoiding water that looks green or foamy to stay safe until fall.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • From July 28 to Aug. 3, several recalls of food and products were issued to protect consumers from harm. The recalls include mislabeling issues with hard seltzer, plastic in YoCrunch yogurt, metal in frozen ground beef, listeria risks in freeze-dried fruit, a strangulation hazard in KidKraft play kitchens, and a safety bar issue in Cosco kitchen steppers — buyers should stop using these items and seek refunds or repairs — as products were sold in several states including here.  Lehigh Valley Live
