CRIME NEWS

  • Andrew Robert Weaver, 20, of Phillipsburg was arrested in Bethlehem after a traffic stop on Sunday—police said he fired a shot through a home window on the 400 block of Anderson Street and seized a loaded Glock 9mm from the vehicle, and he now faces multiple weapons charges in the town's second shooting incident this week.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • The Black Crowes headlined Musikfest’s main Steel Stage on Monday, August 5, delivering a 90-minute rock set with hits like Remedy, Hard to Handle, and Jealous Again—a performance that recalled the band’s Southern roots and reclaimed their rock 'n' roll spirit.   • On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Bethlehem’s Musikfest showcased free stage acts—country singer Kendal Conrad performed at Main Street while Italian band Gadan played at Americaplatz—and featured additional shows by the Dan DeChellis Trio, Space Kamp, Romeo Delight and Mysterious Ways.  Lehigh Valley News
  • The Lehigh Valley Comic Convention will take place on Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. at Lehigh Carbon Community College Main Campus Community Services Center in Schnecksville, featuring special guests such as Phillip Andrew from Power Rangers Wild Force, animation artist Denny Fincke, and voice actress Marion Toro.   • Disney on Ice Road Trip Adventures will return to PPL Center in December with seven performances set for 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 13, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 14.   • Lehigh Valley's population grew over 21,000 since 2020 as more people, especially young adults, move here for a better quality of life and job opportunities—placing Lehigh and Northampton in the top 8% of U.S. counties for growth, with Bethlehem, Upper Macungie, and Easton among Pennsylvania's top communities for new residents.
