- ➤ New Bethany and Nativity Cathedral will host the 3rd annual Back-To-School Carnival on Saturday, August 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Nativity Cathedral on 321 Wyandotte Street + the free event will offer carnival games, a bounce house, food and a giveaway of backpacks and school supplies. WFMZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Daneiris Abreu was sentenced today to up to 15½ years in prison for fleeing police during a traffic stop on Hecktown Road in Lower Nazareth Township when his speeding car caused a head-on crash that killed 67-year-old Susan Henderson — who was traveling to Bethlehem to pick up a grandchild. - ➤ John A. Pollard, Jr., a 65-year-old man from New Jersey, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run on the eastbound off-ramp to the Route 512 exit in Hanover Township Wednesday morning—state police said traffic backed up until the ramp reopened at 9:15 a.m.—and several agencies are investigating the incident.
