- ➤ Bethlehem Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire at Sayre Park Village B South Main Entrance on Saturday, Aug. 23 caused by a mechanical issue from heat exposure that set off a nearby car, and the vehicle owners retrieved their belongings safely+. The Brown and White
- ➤ A sinkhole disrupted traffic in Lehigh County today—road crews are working to secure the area and assess the damage. WFMZ
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bethlehem Catholic football—led by new coach Joe Bernard—won its season-opening game by 28-10 over East Pennsboro on August 23 at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium. The team overcame early setbacks and a cramping issue at quarterback while both starter Cayden Vassa and backup Axel Burkart contributed to the win. Lehigh Valley Live
- ➤ The Freedom football team took an early 7 to 0 lead when junior Lashawn Johnson ran 40 yards for a touchdown—setting the stage for a game in which Downingtown West forced five turnovers and scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to win 47 to 7 at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium on Saturday.
