ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Pre-registration for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will open on September 4th at 8:00 a.m. for Northampton County residents, and the event will take place on October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem — residents must sign up online for a 15-minute appointment as spaces fill quickly. - ➤ Plainfield Township supervisors approved the Grand Central Landfill expansion with a 3-2 vote at a busy public hearing at the township’s fire company—WM’s proposal rezones 212 acres for waste processing while the expansion still needs approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection before a follow-up hearing on September 10 at 6 p.m. WFMZ
