  • Kunkletown artist Lois Schlachter presents her one-woman show, Whimsical Fantasies, at the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission + the exhibition runs through Sept. 23 at the Town Hall Rotunda Gallery on E. Church St.  Bethlehem Press
  • John Fogerty will perform his Legacy Tour at Wind Creek Event Center on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $69.50 to $139.50—available at the box office at 77 Wind Creek Blvd.  Lehigh Valley News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Pre-registration for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will open on September 4th at 8:00 a.m. for Northampton County residents, and the event will take place on October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem — residents must sign up online for a 15-minute appointment as spaces fill quickly.  WFMZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Plainfield Township supervisors approved the Grand Central Landfill expansion with a 3-2 vote at a busy public hearing at the township’s fire company—WM’s proposal rezones 212 acres for waste processing while the expansion still needs approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection before a follow-up hearing on September 10 at 6 p.m.  WFMZ
  • Lehigh County officials will present the 2026 budget today at 11 a.m. — they plan to explain priorities and detail key spending elements.  WFMZ
