- ➤ Northampton County Sheriff’s Department warned community members today about a scam that tricks people by phone, text or flyers — instructing them to post a cash bond at local kiosks to avoid jail. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bethlehem celebrated 60 years of preservation after Historic Bethlehem Inc signed a 99-year lease on July 1 to save old 18th and 19th century buildings along Monocacy Creek in the Colonial Industrial Quarter. Restoration on a stone wall is underway in preparation for a new $1.5-million Overlook on History — a glass-and-steel space that will join the Grist Miller’s House to Luckenbach Mill. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ Fifteen trade publications reported that several Lehigh Valley manufacturers expanded in August and early September. - ➤ Last Thursday, students and faculty gathered on Mountaintop Campus at Lehigh for the grand opening of Wandering Bee, a mobile art installation led by Professor Christina Chi Zhang under the Future Maker Grant. - ➤ Scranton-based Lackawanna College announced that its new Bethlehem Center—located at 3184 Airport Road in the former Triangle Tech facility—is now enrolling for associate degrees in carpentry and construction technology, electrical technology, and welding and fabrication technology.
