  • WDIY, a community-run radio station in Bethlehem, faces a 15% funding cut that risks its NPR programming; executive director Margaret McConnell said the station will pay a reduced NPR fee for at least one year+volunteers like Aurea Ortiz are urging local support to keep it on air.  The Brown and White

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania House passed bipartisan legislation that will allow alkaline hydrolysis—commonly known as water cremation—as an approved method for end-of-life services and more eco-friendly alternative to traditional flame cremation. The bill now awaits Senate review.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission approved 45 new historical markers—one to honor the famous Crayola crayon from Easton—and they will be installed in April 2026 with dedication ceremonies scheduled through the year.  Lehigh Valley Live
