- ➤ Bloom for Women and United Way have partnered to launch a workforce development initiative that trains sex trafficking survivors to staff the PA 211 call line—providing safe work and valuable skills. - ➤ Wilson Area LINCS Coalition for Families and Youth was named one of five finalists for Thrivent’s The Big Give Back campaign—this nonprofit, which offers a food pantry and other programs, now needs local votes to win a $10,000 grant—and voting is open through Oct 18. WLVR

- ➤ Starting today, PennDOT has begun multiple road projects in Northampton County that will restrict lanes on Route 22 in Bethlehem Township, Route 412 in Lower Saucon Township, Route 248 in Moore Township and Walnutport, and a section of Interstate 78 will undergo nighttime concrete patching—from Exits 71 to 75. - ➤ A local group serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities has seen its support shaken by layoffs in the Office of Special Education and looming Medicaid cuts—efforts to reach legislators and collaborate with school districts continue.
