- ➤ Officials removed 20 cats, 19 rabbits — and 14 pigeons from a Northampton County property in Upper Nazareth Township after animal welfare concerns were raised. WFMZ
- ➤ Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital hosted a spooktacular Halloween party for families (with costumed characters and fun activities) that brought early festive spirit to the community. Organizers said the event provided a safe and engaging celebration for children ahead of Halloween. WFMZ
- ➤ The IronPigs staff worked with North Bethlehem Little League volunteers to renovate a field+ they painted, raked, and rebuilt the area for safer, smoother play. The project is part of the IronPigs’ annual effort to give back to the community. WFMZ
- ➤ ChiliFest in Bethlehem will begin Saturday, Oct 18 from noon to 4 p.m. in the SouthSide Art District. Local businesses and restaurants will compete for the Pepper Awards—admission will be $35 with a discounted $30 rate for college students—and tasting stands will line 3rd and 4th Streets while the event will be held rain or shine. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival is hosting a free 80-minute production of Macbeth at 8 p.m. today at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts (2755 Station Ave) as part of its educational Linny Fowler WillPower Tour celebrating its 25th anniversary. - ➤ Jefferson Health will lay off roughly 600—700 workers from its Lehigh Valley Health Network after reporting a $195 million operating loss last fiscal year amid financial headwinds.
