  • The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will bring back the Illumination holiday lights show at Coca-Cola Park from Nov. 14 through Jan. 3, 2026 — featuring nearly 1.5 million lights, a carousel, hayrides with Mrs. Claus, and nightly music and light displays. New attractions include curling lanes plus character visits from the Grinch, Cousin Eddie and Mrs. Claus along with themed evenings and extended showtimes on select dates.  Lehigh Valley Live

CULTURE NEWS

  • Rob Thomas will perform at Wind Creek Event Center on Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. in Bethlehem as he returns for his eighth show supporting the Sidewalk Angels Foundation. Tickets ranging from $79.50 to $169.50 go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 24.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick will headline at the Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem—details on the event timing have yet to be announced.  WFMZ
  • Entertainers in the region will hold a memorial on Wednesday in Easton to honor comedian Nate Marks, who died by suicide on Friday after a personal tragedy. Friends noted he was known for his humor and kindness while battling deep pain behind his smiles.  WFMZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Shoppers in Bethlehem face rising candy prices this Halloween as a global cocoa shortage makes chocolate cost more to produce. Some locals plan to switch to less expensive non-chocolate treats—while others stick to their traditional candy spending to keep the holiday fun.  WFMZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lehigh philosophy professor Gordon Bearn, known for his unorthodox teaching and love for nature shown by his tree-stump decorated office, shared his thoughts on play and questioning rules while planning to retire in December—he will move to Atlanta to live near his grandson. His nearly four-decade career has inspired many students to think freely and challenge conventional ideas.  The Brown and White

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A white line was painted along Pennsylvania Avenue — spanning from Eaton to Ridgelawn — to help protect parked cars after repeated crashes and near-misses; local residents, including Maritza Figueroa, noted a drop in speeding, and city officials said they will review safety measures at the nearby Goepp and Maple intersection if conditions do not improve.  WLVR
  • The Fraternal Order of Police Bethlehem Star Lodge #20 will purchase the Adagio Seafood Restaurant property at 530 Pembroke Road to convert it into a private members club with a gym—training room for defensive tactics and professional training space for police officers. The Bethlehem Zoning Hearing Board also continued a short-term rental hearing for 250 E. Market St. until Dec. 17 amid concerns over recurring violations.  WFMZ
  • The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced that a special firearms hunt for deer and bear is open today through Oct. 25 for junior and senior license holders, those with a disabled permit and U.S. Armed Services members. Hunters must wear at all times at least 250 square inches of bright orange material on the head, chest and back—ensuring they are seen by hikers and dog walkers statewide.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • Good Shepherd Rehabilitation opened its new 4,700-square-foot outpatient practice this week at Promenade Saucon Valley at 2845 Center Valley Parkway, across the street from its hospital. The clinic will host a ribbon cutting and open house on Nov. 4 from 4-6 p.m. + patients can set appointments Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free parking available.  WFMZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lehigh Valley IronPigs announced new Keystone Cabanas at Coca-Cola Park during a news conference on October 22 that will offer premium hospitality seating for fans starting with the 2026 season. The cabanas seat 15 guests each for $555 — they include food items like hot dogs and hamburgers and will be used from March 27 when the season begins.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Lehigh Athletics’ broadcast team prepared early this morning by testing cameras, checking equipment, and loading sponsor graphics at Stabler Arena—Goodman Stadium to deliver a live football game broadcast. Led by Steve Lomangino, Tommy Biltcliff, Kelly Rohrer, and Maddie Arnold, the crew fixed a brief technical glitch and coordinated in-game updates before the final whistle.  The Brown and White
