  • Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley held its annual vigil Thursday at Mountaintop Campus to honor ten victims of domestic and intimate partner abuse using a Clothesline Project and survivor testimonials. About 175 community members walked a T-shirt lined walkway, listened to supportive speeches, and accessed resources through a 24-hour hotline — a reminder that help is available.  The Brown and White

  • Tony Caiazzo runs Campus Pizza at 22 East Fourth Street and keeps his family’s tradition alive by using recipes passed down from Naples; the family shop has served Lehigh students and local residents since 1979 and is now operated by his sons + continues to adapt to changes in campus culture.  The Brown and White

CULTURE NEWS

  • Bethlehem's Bonn Brewing will host an art show that features only work by artists named Doug. Artist Doug Trachtman said the rule is odd — he believes Dougs are rare.  Lehigh Valley Live

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bethlehem City Council approved a $12,000 contract with the nonprofit Center for Public Enterprise (based in New York) to design a self-replenishing revolving loan fund aimed at increasing mixed-income housing. The six-month project will analyze community needs (and financial factors) to set loan guidelines in line with the city's plan to make housing more affordable.  The Brown and White
