- ➤ Bethlehem is providing casework for 53 residents at a 20-acre homeless encampment along the Lehigh River as the settlement nears closure on Dec. 15 — officials said many have accepted help at Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering while some remain hesitant. - ➤ Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering opened this weekend at 75 E. Market St. (its back entrance is at Christ Church United Church of Christ) to provide overnight beds, meals, and basic supplies for guests 18 and older with a police voucher, and it will operate seven days a week through April 30, with local volunteers and partnerships supporting services like counseling and a community resource navigator at 11 W.
