- ➤ WFMZ and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms held their 11th annual coat drive on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the PPL Center in Allentown—with additional drop-offs at bins around Allentown and at the Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem, donations including in‐high demand children’s coats will be distributed by the Salvation Army on Dec. 3. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Deer are more active during rut season and Pennsylvania drivers face a higher risk of deer-vehicle collisions with a 1-in-62 chance compared to the national average; the Pennsylvania Game Commission advises motorists to slow down near wooded areas at dusk and dawn. Drivers should watch for groups of deer+ report any accidents to their insurance and call PennDOT for dead deer removal. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ Bethlehem’s Christkindlmarkt opened its doors Friday morning at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks — the event will run on weekends from November 14th to December 21st and uses only cashless payments via cards and mobile pay. ArtsQuest said the market adds a winter wonderland this year after nearly 130,000 visitors came last year. WFMZ
- ➤ Lehigh Valley IronPigs hosted a preview event Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park where fans saw almost 1.5 million lights and interactive attractions — including a carousel, hay rides, Mrs. Claus, and curling lanes. The holiday display opened Friday and will run through Sunday until Thanksgiving then daily until January 3 — with tickets at $11 in November, $13 in December, and free entry for children under 2. - ➤ Lehigh is supporting faculty integration of artificial intelligence by launching a training program and Future Maker Grant—efforts that offer workshops, online modules, and guidance for using AI responsibly in both classrooms and administrative work. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Game Commission predicted a strong bear hunting season based on last year’s harvest of 2,642 bears taken across 56 counties—hunters face less than a 2% chance to bag a bear. - ➤ Liberty ended their season on Friday after falling 38-20 at Cottingham Stadium to undefeated Easton in the District 11 6A semifinals. - ➤ Bethlehem Catholic’s volleyball season ended last weekend when the Golden Hawks were swept by Pope John Paul II, losing 23-25, 20-25, 19-25 in the PIAA quarterfinals.
