ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire destroyed the Moon of Saucon Valley—a landmark banquet hall in Lower Saucon Township—over the weekend, and more than 15 fire departments spent 10 hours fighting the blaze that collapsed the building and crushed a car while investigators examine what caused the fire as local residents recall past celebrations there.  WFMZ
  • A fire on Sunday caused smoke, fire and water damage at the popular Bethlehem pub on Elizabeth Avenue and forced a safe evacuation, with firefighters subduing flames in 20 minutes—Bethlehem Fire Chief Matthew Griffin said there were no injuries and the reopening remains uncertain.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • Crispy Halal will open a new 65-seat restaurant at 25 E. Third St. in South Bethlehem on Dec. 15 – it will serve fried chicken, gyros, and more from 10:30 a.m. daily until late and feature a 25-foot art piece celebrating Bethlehem Steel's legacy at the former Color Me Mine property.  WLVR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Grammy-winning band Train will head the Musikfest 2026 event in Bethlehem on Aug. 3 at the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza—joining country rock singer-songwriter George Pippen as a special guest. The 11-day festival runs from July 31 to Aug. 9 and tickets will be available on Dec. 1 for ArtsQuest members and on Dec. 5 for the general public.  Lehigh Valley Live

ECONOMY NEWS

  • B. Braun announced a $20 million expansion at its Hanover Township facility that will create 200 new jobs over three years while retaining 1,704 existing positions as it upgrades IV therapy and pharmacy operations. The project was featured in Site Selection magazine and is supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (providing $1.5 million) to boost regional innovation.  Lehigh Valley Economic Development

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Bethlehem Area School District board reelects president Michael Faccinetto and vice president Shannon Patrick at Monday’s meeting and noted a $2.5 million state funding boost that will help lower the deficit while the district reportedly lost interest earnings during the budget impasse. Officials also reviewed plans for vocational school upgrades at The Factory property—with bids going out this December and construction set to begin early 2026—and shared a 2025–26 technology plan for improved student devices.  WFMZ
  • A Lehigh student said Rivalry Week is more than a game as he recalled years of friendly competition with his Lafayette-bound brother — a bond built from shared childhood memories and annual football games before Thanksgiving break.
