- ➤ Bethlehem is hosting a season of holiday events through Jan. 1 featuring exhibits on historic Christmas trees, museum and train open houses, festive concerts, carriage rides, artisan markets, and a 17th annual Peep drop to ring in the New Year. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ Bethlehem’s Advent Calendar brings festive surprises to the Sun Inn Courtyard from Dec. 1 to 23 with a nightly door reveal featuring a bell ringer & carolers from Touchstone Theatre and the Historic District Association. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, the Bethlehem Area School Board approved a four-year contract with support personnel that will raise hourly wages by at least $3 — the agreement takes effect on July 1, 2026 and benefits roles such as technical assistants and child care aides. WLVR
- ➤ Bethlehem Area School District announced half days on Dec. 19 (HS at 11 a.m., MS 11:30 a.m., ES at noon) with holiday break from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4 as school resumes Jan. 5; select concert videos, Freedom Bingo on Jan. 11, and a ticketed Santa breakfast are also scheduled. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ Bethlehem City Council discussed Tuesday night’s evacuation of an unhoused encampment on Norfolk Southern land as officials cleared the site for safety (risks included open fires and waste hazards). Community partners helped most residents connect to services while some had to arrange for moving belongings on their own. WFMZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ State officials reported 400 snow geese died at a quarry in Lower Nazareth Township on Tuesday from avian influenza, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission is coordinating safe removal, testing and disposal of the birds. Residents encountering sick or dead wild birds should call the hotline (1-833-PGC-WILD). WLVR
