- ➤ Robert Rozak and his husband Jay Martinez run Mighty Pawz, which rescued a 5-month-old kitten stuck in a sewer at Whitehall Mall on Sept. 6 using traps and help from local fire departments—Amber Fuschetto later gave the kitten a home. - ➤ Bethlehem will open its new Walnut Street Garage during Walnut Week from November 17 to 21 after demolishing the old structure. The city, the parking authority and the chamber of commerce will host events including a 3:30 p.m. press conference on Monday, bike giveaways on Tuesday, a rooftop wellness event on Wednesday, a ribbon cutting on Thursday and a business promotion on Friday. - ➤ Theresa Caputo, known as the Long Island Medium, will perform live at Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem for two shows this weekend. - ➤ Lehigh is expanding its mountain biking trails to help students stay active and build community—this effort will include bike grants and free rentals to make biking accessible for low-income students and create safe, maintained trails. - ➤ Bethlehem Fire Department works with only 18 firefighters per shift and is short eight personnel, as a new study from IAFF Local 735 shows the need for 31 on duty plus a new station to meet rising service calls.
